  • God's Gift, Merry Christmas!

For our family 2009 has been a year full of blessings. We are most thankful for my continued employment, making it through the several layoffs this year. God is most gracious in His provisions! I have also enjoyed brewing beer and blogging.

We are grateful for the ability to have my wife stay at home another year to homeschool our youngest at age 15. It is a blessing to have mom there to keep the home fires burning with everyone's busy schedules. She also get to relax with nature journaling and scrapbooking.

Speaking of busy schedules, my oldest girl is most thankful to finally being done with school. She graduated summa cum laude from Carroll University, majoring in graphic communication and commercial art. She accepted an offer from a local business to stay on after her internship there and is grateful for the steady employment. Most of all, we are pretty sure she is thankful for Steven, “wonderful” young man from Mississippi who has been courting her this year.

Having graduated in June, my son is happy to be done with high school! We are all thankful for his admission to UW-Washington County and that his first semester is going well. Did you know that playing ping-pong with two tables put end-to-end is awesome!? It is just one of the extra curricular activities he's "created" on campus.

And my youngest is thankful for God's beautiful creation which she has been capturing with her camera this past year. (She's also thankful for extended warranties that replace dropped and damaged cameras!) She is thankful for friends, soccer, volleyball, her numerous house plants and her dwarf hamster, Honey.

We pray that God has blessed you all with a year of growing in His love and care. May you have a beautiful Christmas season full of wonderful new memories as you celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end”. - Luke 1:32,33

    Merry Christmas!
