  • Reformation preferred over revolution

I had really no hope in this election since watching the end of a long primary process. By process I'm referring to many entities involved such as RP, DP, the media, the caucuses and the types of people involved in all of these.

I have no hope in the electorate as is. We The People of this once great and prosperous country behaved with deception and obliquation to achieve positions of power. To me it was blatant, flagrant and too common for there to be integrity in the selected candidate's claim to power. The victor's followers appeared as a rancorous mob as they mocked those, even in the same party, who sought fairness in the process. It reminded me of the attitudes of the people who lived in Vanity Fair as depicted in the book Pilgrim's Progress. The people were filled with hatred, no idea of justice, no compassion for those who sought after proper order and fairness in our electoral process. The care for the fellow citizen or dare I say brother or sister who has been wronged or oppressed has fallen from our society. Where has that attitude of disdain of tyrants gone? Where is that desire of right and freedom?

If we do not return to what is virtuous, we will all become a nation of people with hearts filled with ressentiment (no I didn't misspell resentment). The nation will not survive with this in the heart.

    Ressentiment defined here.

For America, I've always preferred the idea of reformation of the hearts and behavior rather than the violent revolution of a government. The minds of the people will not be changed without first changing their hearts. This begins at home with the Father teaching the children, Father does mean author. What are you planning for your spouse and children? We have a generation of freedom haters. Let us recover by writing better ideas in the hearts of our next generation. This is how freedom is handed down. Freedom can't be sprayed on, rubbed into the skin, or hung on the body it has to be taught and planted in the heart and mind. True freedom doesn't come without Christ in the heart. The last few generations have failed at this for many reasons.

For those of us who loved the Republican, or Democrat candidates...

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

For those of us here who deny that God and a saving faith in Christ is needed in the hearts of a people, "Man will ultimately be governed by God or by tyrants." - Benjamin Franklin

    Have a blessed day.

  • The brainwashing of American society began during the industrial revolution. It took 80 years to finally pass in 1930. Literacy has dropped ever since.

  • The electorate (the masses) has no soul.  It is like a mob of celebrity seekers wanting to be part of the "latest" fad or craze.   Mankind continually sinks to the lowest, base instincts and is ruled by its appetites rather than sense.   How hard to see the "image of God" in collective society!
