The Mosque
To put it simply...
This is a decision which should be and will be made by the local politicians, they are the zoning administrators and if you don't like their decisions then vote them out. Pres. Obama should keep his influential authoritative comments out of these local issues because they are NOT his jurisdiction unless he thinks he should govern as an Imam. He doesn't seem to understand jurisdictional boundaries.
MY issue is this. Islam does not teach any idea of freedom which this United States was founded upon. There are no places in this world under a Moslem controlled government which allows the freedoms WE enjoy here in America. I also would say that the mosque should not be allowed to be built where they desire it because it would be too near the 9/11 attack by "Moslems" and would be viewed by a majority of the people to be a "Islamic victory stamp" more than anything else.
For ANYONE to declare this mosque building project near "ground zero" an act of "healing" is putting forth a ruse. How can for example, the failed invasion of a country be healed by putting a symbol of the invader's world view at the location of the invasion? That is backwards thinking and only PROMOTES the invading country's world view.
It would be more proper to allow the U.S. to put a monument in some Islamic country.
Better still, locate the monument upon some other major mosque property or an even better thing would be to allow the entrance of Christian missionaries into some Islamic country, here's the hard part and allow without any harassment the teaching of the an alternative Christian way for the people of that nation to believe and live.
For indeed it is obvious that Islam's idea of making this planet a better place "one blasted body" at a time is not my idea nor this country's idea of promoting freedom and peace.
So, I could also say NO to the "building of the mosque" BECAUSE it would propagate the principles the Koran teaches which are contrary to the sustaining of the liberties which Moslems and everyone else currently enjoys here in America. By approving, I would be condoning the systematized destruction of the authority my political seat represents. Yes, true Islam is contrary to our Constitutional government, sedition comes to my mind for some reason.
How about this? Make it a mandate that in order to build they have to provide and attend U.S. Constitution classes; remove from their Koran, cult magazines, and class teachings on site all references to the killing of infidels, mistreatment of women, the marrying of nine year olds; no one wearing burqas may enter the mosque building; and imams (or leaders of Islam) are never to be the head of any combined church and civil governments and the list goes on and on and on....
Or at least have the occupants required to put together yearly a football league and participate in a yearly football season/tournament without blowing up the crowd.
As Christ is my Lord, I do not desire to live under Sharia law nor any type of Islamic nation, why would YOU?!
